Colorado wants to limit access and increase prices on your favorite spirits products!

Take action NOW by asking your legislators to oppose bills attacking our industry!

OUR INDUSTRY IS UNDER ATTACK!

Two bills were just introduced in Colorado to:

  • put a massive fee on all alcohol products which would result in higher prices for consumers, lost sales for local retailers AND an elimination of 2,600 Colorado jobs, without reducing the consumption of CO’s heaviest drinkers
    • And make no mistake, this “fee” acts just like a tax, but because they call it a fee, they get to SKIP getting voter approval. That’s just wrong!
  • eliminate your ability to purchase spirits products in grocery stores PLUS cap the alcohol-by-volume of products sold – removing many of the great wines voters JUST approved to be on those store shelves

ACT NOW by telling legislators to VOTE NO on HB 1373 and SB 181.

As responsible members of the spirits industry, we fully support evidence-based solutions to reduce alcohol abuse. Research shows that increasing prices does not significantly reduce consumption among the heaviest drinkers. (And look at how government agencies are burying that data in an effort to increase taxes here!)

While states all across the country are increasing consumer convenience and supporting the hospitality industry, Colorado legislators are trying to take us backward. We should not be penalizing responsible spirits consumers and local businesses with misguided policies!
